Cloud Operations Engineer Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - About the Opportunity
As a Cloud Operations Engineer at CloudCheckr you?ll join an elite DevOps team responsible for a rapidly growing Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. Every day we solve interesting and complex challenges around monitoring, automation, data security, and performance. You will help drive improvements in existing infrastructure (in multiple areas of our deployment), manage product deployments, install new environments in AWS and Azure, and much more!
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a production cloud environment hosted in AWS and Azure
Product deployments, patches, and hotfixes
Investigating customer performance issues
Implementing proactive monitoring and improving existing monitoring
System log analysis
Securing infrastructure and participate in security reviews
Writing scripts to automate repetitive tasks
Debugging various application components through Microsoft Visual Studio
Research and escalate issues to Development as needed
Stay abreast of new technologies and communicate their benefit within DevOps and Development at large
To be successful in this role you will need:
Experience supporting and maintaining a 24/7 production environment
Azure experience with VM?s, Scale sets, Application Gateways, Virtual Networks, Traffic Manager
AWS experience with EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, VPC, IAM, S3, and Elastic Beanstalk
Ability to write and maintain Powershell scripts
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodology
Experience with metrics collection and monitoring, such as Datadog or New Relic
Familiarity with DevOps culture and practices
Microsoft SQL Server/writing and updating SQL queries
