Cayuse, , is a Portland based software company that was recently spun out from a California based organization. The company develops and sells enterprise SaaS products to manage research projects in large organizations with a current focus on university research departments. Their cloud based solutions streamlines and improves current manual, labor-intensive processes in research management to support research and discovery. The company has approximately 60 employees with the majority in software development and customer support. The company is led by an experienced software executive with an existing management team having many years? experience working together. With new products being launched in 2017 and additional products under development it is an exciting time to join and become a key member of a growth oriented team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The VP Finance will have responsibility for all traditional corporate accounting and finance functions. This individual will be a business partner to the CEO, the management team and the Board of Directors. The daily accounting and monthly financial statement closing activities will be conducted by a third party provider. The VP Finance will manage this relationship, ensure the accuracy of financial information and will serve as the primary hands on financial analyst for the company. This position will be a member of the customer contract negotiation team as well as working with all department leaders to ensure company goals are being achieved.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:
Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. CPA preferred.
Experience reviewing and evaluating software sales contracts, preferably SaaS contracts.
Experience or exposure to mergers and acquisitions (due diligence and integration)
Experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm, or experience as a Controller of CFO whose company has been audited.
Experience working in a fast paced, start up, entrepreneurial work environment.
Experience working closely with a President/CEO and Board of Directors.
Experience working with professional investors (venture capital or private equity).
Collaborative, team oriented style though be able to make decisions quickly.
