Financial Analyst Job Opening in Stamford, Connecticut - The Retail Financial Analyst will be a member of the financial planning team. The analyst will be responsible in preparation of weekly/monthly financial reporting and the analysis of target metrics. The successful candidate must have excellent analytical, research, and financial modeling skills. The individual must be an effective team player, but also be self-directed, and highly organized.
Essential job responsibilities:
Financial analysis within a multi-channel business
Preparation of weekly and monthly financial reporting
Analyze performance against budget/forecast targets and prior years
Analysis on corporate expenses, with emphasis on large line item accounts
Perform other Ad hoc analyses and reporting as requested.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Finance or Business Administration
Strong analytical skills
Understanding of financial statements, margins, cost of goods sold and basic GAAP accounting principles
Self-starter, naturally curious with excellent problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Multi-tasking ability
3-5 years experience
Retail experience preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft office Suite, must be well versed in Microsoft excel
