Accounting Intern Job Opening in Trumbull, Connecticut - Coordinated Transportation Solutions (CTS) is a not-for-profit organization based in Connecticut with 20 years of experience managing Medicaid and Medicare non-emergency medical transportation programs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York. With over 75 employees in Trumbull, CT, CTS employs a variety of professionals trained in call center operations, operations management, IT network development, financial operations, business development and marketing.
CTS is offering a paid internship for a motivated student seeking a career in non-profit, accounting, healthcare or transportation management. The Intern will be assigned a CTS mentor and will have the opportunity to work closely with all CTS staff.
ELIGIBILITY ? The Internship is available to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are completing their Junior or Senior year of school.
SCHOOL CREDIT ? Depending upon the requirements of the College or University the student attends, the internship may be eligible for college credit. The student is responsible for following the internship protocols of his or her learning institution.
HOURS ? The internship runs current academic semester, 20-40 hours per week. A fixed schedule will be determined.
DUTIES - following are the duties of the Accounting Intern (other duties may be assigned):
Process claims submitted by transportation providers for non-emergency medical transportation services.
Examine and validate the information on all mileage reimbursement requests (claims) from Medicaid members seeking payment.
Calculate the amounts of claims and complete a payment voucher to process a payment.
Maintain files of source documents and other information related to accounting activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Claims processing experience a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
COMPENSATION - Interns will be compensated at the following rates:
College Junior - $12 hour
College Senior - $13 hour
