Tax Accountant Job Opening in Middlebury, Vermont - Great opportunity to join a fast growing CPA firm. The company currently has two offices in Vermont (Dorset & Middlebury) and this position would be in the Middlebury office. The position is primarily a tax position but will provide opportunities for the right candidate to be involved in accounting and financial planning services.
The successful candidate will be personable, detail oriented and have the ability to adapt to our clients changing needs.
Responsibilities include:
Interviewing clients to obtain information needed to prepare income tax returns
Preparation of personal, corporate, partnership & trust tax returns from client records
Provide suggested corrections to client tax data and record keeping to comply with regulatory requirements
Provide clients with feedback on best practices for accumulating and providing tax information
Assist bookkeeping staff (client and internal) with accounting questions as they arise
Assist client with ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
2-3 years of recent tax and accounting experience
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a variety of computer software applications and show a willingness to continue to enhance these skills in an effort to improve the efficiency of the process and provide value to our clients
Effective communications skills
Recent experience with Ultra-Tax and Creative Solutions suite of accounting products is a plus
Salary commensurate with experience
