Nurse Manager Job Opening in los angeles, California - Nurse Manager The City of Los Angeles, Medical Services Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Nurse Manager, R.N., with strong leadership communication, and interpersonal abilities. The Nurse Manager will work in a health setting, overseeing approximately 55 full-time nurses and ancillary staff with an operating budget of several million dollars. This is an administrative manager with a Monday-Friday work schedule. Working in a division that includes occupational health, psychology, and correctional care, the nursing services provided by this division include medically evaluating employees and arrestees; overseeing OSHA-mandated exams; drug testing for commercial drivers; pre-employment exams; workplace violence programs; and pre- and post-booking exams. The Nurse Manager also works closely with the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department�s medical units. The successful candidate will be expected to have a proven track record in performing clinical duties and supervising staff while maintaining an effective team approach to providing these services. The selected candidate will be of the highest personal and professional integrity and who will promote a sense of credibility, trust, and collaboration within the division. This position requires: -Possession of a current and valid Registered Nurse License issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. -Graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Public Administration. -A minimum of 5 years of full-time paid professional registered nurse experience; 3 of the years of which must provide experience in a supervisory position such as a Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, or Clinical Coordinator.
