Mortgage Branch Controller Job Opening in Sandy, Utah - This individual will be responsible for the management and oversite of National Mortgage Operations to include, Set Up, Loan Processing, QA, Closing, Funding and Post Closing. The Director is directly responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, compliant processing and closing of all loans. This individual sets and communicates direction, goals, and objectives in alignment with production goals and objectives, as well as Corporate directives for consistency and efficiency. The Director will provide training, guidance, and support for all team members. They will implement new strategies and processes to deliver quality loans and reduce the cost to produce loans. This individual will be responsible for managing the performance of employees as well as hiring new employees as needed.
Essential Duties
The ability to provide exemplary written and verbal communication is crucial for this position.
Directly responsible for the following departments: Set Up, Processing, QA, Closing, Funding and Post Closing on a National basis
Exhibit effective workforce management skills and be able to achieve/maintain productivity in each department that is acceptable to our internal and external customers.
Provide training and guidance for all departments
Responsible for staffing and budgeting of all the department with the help of the regional managers and in collaboration with sales management
Provide direct and concise performance management or termination as necessary
Develop productivity and quality standards and measure the results continuously
Continually seek and implement system and process enhancements to increase productivity or quality
Work closely with the Project Manager and all Department heads to meet company objectives
Respond quickly and precisely to any Agency, QC, Investor or other department request or reports as it relates to operations.
Create and implement an action plan and a feedback loop for continuous improvement based on the results of these reports.
Maintain a less than 5% error rate on QC reports with a goal of lower than 3%
Work with the BI team to develop productivity and quality scorecards for the departments
Review escalated issues in a timely manner
Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
Effectively utilizes each team member to accomplish the project objectives
Participates as a member of the project team
Education
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of full-time mortgage operations experience
Minimum of 3 years in a full-time mortgage operations management role
Familiarity with Agency and investor programs and guidelines
Skills
Dedicated to quality customer service, with proactive response to stakeholder needs
Ability and willingness to work on multiple projects at the same time
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively including MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Project.
