Educational Marketing Specialist Job Opening in minneapolis, Minnesota - Educational Marketing Specialist Northern Star Council seeks a Marketing Manager for Base Camp, its urban program facility at Fort Snelling. This position is temporary and is expected to run six to nine months. It will begin on a part-time basis (10-20 hours/week), increasing to full time in the fall. The work schedule is flexible between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM with occasional evening and weekend hours required. Primary responsibilities include: ? Develop and implement a strategy for marketing Base Camp to schools ? Priority focus on booking schools to attend Base Camp in Fall -Spring 2012 ? Develop collateral materials to support marketing efforts (with support from Council Marketing Director) ? Create and maintain a database of current and potential school customers ? Create an annual school marketing plan and train Base Camp staff to implement in 2012/2013 ? Personally make sales calls to potential schools (in person and over the phone) Other responsibilities: ? Promote Base Camp opportunities to corporate and community groups Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in marketing, communications or education. Relevant experience in sales and/or education is essential. ? Sales and marketing experience, with 2 years preferred ? Experience working with or in schools is desirable ? Able to work independently as well as cooperatively with supervisor and other council staff ? Able to communicate professionally, clearly, and enthusiastically on the telephone and in person. Must be able to convey enthusiasm for Base Camp and its programs. ? General computer and office skills (Word and Excel, with intermediate skills preferred ? Experience working with Publisher or similar desktop publishing programs is desirable but not required ? Must be a problem solver, team player, dependable, accurate, and detail oriented ? Must have strong verbal and written communications skills ? Must have a valid driver?s license, reliable transportation, ability to drive to and from multiple locations, and current automobile insurance at levels of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.
