Junior Software Engineer Job Opening in Oak Park, Michigan - Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join a bright and talented group of developers. The candidate will be working with exciting technologies including C#, JavaScript, Apex, MVC, React/Redux, entity framework, Python, Clojure, and Go.
Duties
The Junior Developer will develop and own new and existing code within our custom ERP in cooperation with internal team members. Daily duties will include:
Write code using established standards in our Microsoft Windows environment.
Design, develop and deploy user interfaces built with tools such as XHTML and JavaScript.
Troubleshoot existing code.
These responsibilities will need to be balanced between games of pool and while dodging Nerf darts.
Required Skills
Hands-on object-oriented programming experience with Java, C#, or similar managed development environment.
Ability to learn and help build a complex, highly automated, and integrated system.
Passion for programming and an eagerness to acquire new skills.
Source control such as git or Subversion.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills.
Self-starter, team-player with excellent communication skills.
Extreme attention to detail: clear, detailed comments in all code.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with or the platform.
Strong programming fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
Experience with Eclipse development.
Energy Experience.
Basic Accounting or Finance skills.
Python or Ruby.
Excellent aim with Nerf weapon.
Really Nice-to-Have Skills
These skills are not regularly employed during the daily duties of the Junior Developer, but demonstrate exactly the kind of passion for software development that we are looking for.
