Essential Functions Upholds the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family Assures safe care at all times and upholds the commitment to care for each patient as a sacred trust Utilize appropriate knowledge and documented competency in aseptic technique, universal precautions, and infection control Demonstrates safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation Demonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing developmental perspective Ability to prioritize facility/patient needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations, realizing that primary customer needs take precedence Assist in providing basic bedside care and administer treatments under the direct supervision of the physician or RN, anticipating customer needs and responding accordingly as evidenced by satisfaction surveys and individual reports Assist in initiating care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures Assist in collecting detailed patient history and symptoms, including Vital Signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost effective manner Accurately and concisely documents services provided within the medical record in a thorough, timely manner Consult and coordinate with medical team to implement and evaluate patient care needs Identify adverse changes in symptomatology, initiate corrective action and report changes to physician and RN Assist during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments, including chaperoning, correlating findings with procedure being performed and ensuring Time-Out observed on appropriate procedures according to policy Demonstrate proficiency at inserting and maintaining IV?s Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with COLA and CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures Demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needs Prepare patient meals Maintains confidentiality of all Hospital and patient information as required by facility policy and HIPPA laws Minimum Qualifications Medical Corpsman with minimum 1+ year of applicable experience, or EMT-I or Paramedic with 1+ year experience required 3+ years Paramedic experience preferred EMT-I (Intermediate) or Paramedic Certification in good standing in the state of Indiana Current BLS and ACLS and PALS required Fluent in English, both written and oral Experience using Electronic Medical Record and Electronic Medication Dispensing Unit (e.g. Pyxis) Commitment to the highest ideals of the nursing profession in caring for patients Collaborative teamwork skills within an interdisciplinary group focused on patient care Job Type: Full-time Job Location: Tulsa, OK 74132 Required experience: Paramedic: 3 years Required licenses or certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) PALS
