Financial and HR Director Job Opening in Mount Pleasant, South carolina - East Cooper Montessori Charter School seeks an experienced Director of Finance and Director of HR. East Cooper Montessori is a small public school nestled in the growing suburb of Mount Pleasant, SC. The charter school is a highly sought after school of choice taking in 500 applications annually for approximately 60 spaces. The faculty of 50 employees is made up of of educators and visionaries that make the school stand out as an excellent educational institution but also as an amazing and fulfilling workplace.
The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting and finance as well as proficiency with applications such as Quickbooks, Etapestry and Excel. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships and also is a proactive initiator. We are a community of educators and our Director of Finance and HR must embrace the work of children as the ultimate goal of all practices.
Duties-Finance Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis, cash flow analysis, outsourced payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, month end journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, cash management and compliance with GAAP and government regulations.
Coordinate and lead the annual financial review process, liaise with external auditors. Assess and implement any changes necessary.
Extended care billing and invoicing monthly (within parameters listed in parent handbook)
Bill additional fees
Ensure timely payment of all invoices
Maintain accurate and current insurance
Monitor leases on copier and other lease agreements
Oversee and lead annual budget planning process; administer and review all financial plans, budgets, fixed assets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization?s financial status.
Develop and maintain a short and long term strategic financial plan to include annual operating, fundraising and capital reserve funds.
Duties-Human Resources Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Completes all HR functions including hiring and termination paperwork
Conducts confidential HR functions, including background checks and other lawful investigations as required by law
Ensures Federal and State employment information is posted
Ensures the correct administration of payroll, benefits, policies and SC Retirement system benefits.
Recommend and implement the school's policies for human resources.
Prepare and file government required employment reports.
Coordinate operation of employee benefits programs.
Maintain employee relations.
