Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - Purpose of the Job:
The job of the Payroll Specialist is to complete payroll processing work and maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction for all Quatrro FPO Solutions payroll clients under the direction of the Head of US Operations, Payroll Manager, and/or Payroll Supervisor and in coordination with industry Account Managers.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Proactively provide world-class customer service to both internal and external customers.
Gather and process all appropriate documentation from the client in order to complete each payroll submission. Reviews materials for completeness and contact the customer for missing information.
Process each client?s payroll submission according to their payroll cycle deadlines.
Work with the India shared services team as needed to support their part of the payroll process.
Review payroll for accuracy and completion prior to submission.
Provide appropriate reports, deposit advices, checks, and other needed information to the client after each payroll run
Maintain correct personnel information for each client, as applicable.
Maintain updated process notes for each client, as appropriate.
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues and/or questions from either internal or external customers. Provide timely responses to any issue/question raised, including proactively providing status updates for any item that will take a period of time to resolve.
Interpret and explain payroll policies and practices when appropriate.
Gather and process all appropriate documentation to calculate child support payments or garnishment requests. Complete filing of any applicable payments (FPO or third party) in a timely manner.
Process and file period-end (monthly, quarterly, annual, off-cycle) reports, including W-2 forms.
Ensure all payroll-related are completed in compliance with internal and external regulations.
Maintain a high standard of quality payroll processing for FPO?s clients.
Senior Payroll Specialist differentiation: A Senior Payroll Specialist is more experienced and therefore will be expected to perform the duties outlined above, but with a higher volume and complexity level of clients. The Senior Payroll Specialist will also be expected to take on additional projects and may have 1-2 team members which they oversee and manage.
Other duties and responsibilities:
Assist in the transition of new payroll clients and setup as requested.
Provide administrative assistance and support to the Payroll Supervisor, Payroll Manager, and/or Head of US Operations as needed.
May be required to perform additional office duties occasionally and serve as backup for other clerical positions.

Supervisory responsibilities:
None
Payroll Specialist-may oversee/manage schedules of 1-2 team members
Knowledge and Skills :
Required: Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent, an understanding of and experience with personal computers, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel software, and ability to process computerized data is required. Good human relations and communication skills, including writing correspondence and presenting information either one-on-one or in a group setting, are also required. Good data entry skills, ability to independently problem solve, and ability to carry out instructions is also required. Experience with UltiPro software is required.
Preferred: 1+ years of payroll processing experience, payroll tax experience, strong personal ability to manage priorities and functions, knowledge of general accounting principles.
Desired: 3+ years of payroll processing experience including multiple clients and multiple states, working knowledge of Great Plains software.
