Engineer Controls III (SCADA or Software) Job Opening in Tempe, Arizona - This position will be primarily responsible for continued development of HMI and control system with regards to Solar PV SCADA solution. This position is also responsible for the SCADA and PV plant control system development of Solar EPC projects and 3rd party site integrations to the Operations Center.
Experience:
Minimum 12 years? experience with electrical systems, industrial control systems, software development, or field deployment projects.
Minimum 8 years? experience of advanced level development using enterprise SCADA system.
Experience in a high-growth enterprise is desired.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or an IT or electrical related discipline.
Required Skills
Demonstrated competence for engineering solutions for SCADA automation, remote monitoring stations, engineering, and deployment of HMI systems.
Proven knowledge of power plant controls, networking, and PLCs.
Proven knowledge of HMI interface and data tag integrations.
Experienced with SEL programming language and controllers.
Experience with MSSQL or MySQL is desired.
Proven knowledge of communication protocols for base-level devices: Modbus , OPC, DNP3, SELFast, etc.
Proven knowledge of controls engineering techniques and practices.
Commercial, Industrial, or Utility scale electrical experience preferred.
International experience in system deployment is preferred.
Clear understanding of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation?s (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulatory standards.
Proven knowledge of NEC and NFPA (70, 70E, 79, etc.) codes.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Support cross functional departments on solution development of control aspects that relate to operation and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for control system development, data collection and project specific control requirement for new solar power plants.
Support FS EPC commissioning activities.
Support and collaborate with O&M group for power plant control related issues, troubleshoot, provide solutions, guidance and ensuring that issues resolved timely and accurately.
Travel estimated up to 10% of business days, primarily in North America.
Eligibility to work in internationally for short periods of time.
