Medical Scribe Job Opening in Las Vegas, Nevada - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment;
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
Transcribes patient history and physical information in room with Providers.
Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
Assists the Providers with fundamental patient care.
Manages an average of at least two patients per hour, and a minimum of four patients per hour during peak times.
Facilitates diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and understanding of medical terminology required.
Superior communication skills required - written, verbal and interpersonal.
Excellent computer skills required, including significant experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems.
Successful completion of Medical Assistant training program and certification required.
Must have at least 3 years of prior experience as a Medical Assistant with at least 1 of those years spent working as a Scribe in a medical clinic.
Must have strong attention to detail required.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
The person needs to be caring towards patients and able to answer all questions of the patients as simply as possible according to the requirement.
Multi-tasking skills very important.
The person should have the ability to work long hours, often under tight pressure and strict deadlines.
He or she should be able to maintain the patient confidentiality.
High school diploma; some college preferred.
Knowledge:
Healthcare field and medical specialty.
Medical terminology.
Grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Knowledge of EHRs.
