Job Opening in Fargo, North dakota - Design Direction is a leading design-focused retailer of floor coverings, window and wall coverings, along with Interior Design Services, business. We work with residential new home building, remodeling as well as commercial remodels and fit-up.
Because of our success and planned growth, we are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented person to handle our bookkeeping, job site measuring, project estimating, and warehouse work, which involves driving a forklift. This position may or may not include the bookkeeping responsibilities. Join our fun, energetic community minded team.
Job Duties: include the following, but not limited to
Job site measuring for carpet, wood flooring and ceramic tile
Project estimating of floor and wall coverings from blueprints
Place, follow up, receive and check in product orders
Drive forklift to load and unload flooring products and other freight. (Willing to train)
Coordinate installation schedules
Set up new displays for the showroom as needed.
Assist other staff as needed
Accounts payable and Receivable, Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements. (Optional)
Monthly reporting to manager and accountant, other bookkeeping duties. (Optional)
Qualifications:
Understand and be able to read blueprints and construction documents
Self-directed, positive attitude, takes initiative, good problem solving ability
Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented and follow through
Ability to build relationships with vendors, trade partners and installers
Ability to work with deadlines while managing multiple projects.
Must be able to lift and carry 50-75 pounds repeatedly
Ability to work well on and with a team
Ability to use and understand Microsoft Word, and Excel
A current valid driver?s license
Knowledge of and experience in the building and floor covering industry a plus
Good working knowledge of Quickbooks- (experience required, if you are applying to include the bookkeeping responsibilities)
Hours: This position can be 30-40 hrs/week.
