Mechanical Engineer Job Opening in Biloxi, Mississippi - We are looking for a creative Mechanical/Plant Engineer to work on all phases of new work and currently installed Mechanical systems from research and development to design, through to installation and final commissioning. Identify weaknesses and flaws in design submittals, inefficient or ineffective designs, maintenance impediments, inaccurate calculations, inappropriate assumptions and potential long term cost impacts within proposed designs and equipment submittals. The goal is to provide professional coordination, design, maintenance and installation support for the mechanical components in a Major Military Medical Facility.
Key Role:
Manage all engineering projects. Provide technical input, oversight and support to all special projects assigned to our ongoing operations and maintenance contract at a healthcare facility. Develop solutions to facility and equipment problems, prepare cost estimates and subcontract bid packages. Typical projects include minor construction; renovations; facility modifications; utility systems installations; upgrades and repairs. Work is performed in support of a 24/7 healthcare facility and ancillary utility plant.
Duties include:
Provide assistance in reviewing Contractor to make sure equipment/systems meet TJC standards and NFPA regulations to include evaluating impacts (if any) on Be able to calculate load and energy consumption (using Government data). Provide support in achieving and maintaining compliance with mandatory federal, state , and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical/Plant Engineer to be a full time position
Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements of medical facility
Produce outline designs
Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
Evaluate final product?s overall performance, reliability and safety
Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
Assist in estimating budgets and scope of projects
Solicit observations from facility management staff, colleagues and equipment operators
Prepare equipment reports and documentation required.
