Test and Reliability Engineer Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - The Company : Solar Junction Corporation is a privately held company that designs and manufactures the world?s highest efficiency commercially available solar cells.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, validate and deploy R&D and production test capability for multi-junction solar cell products at wafer, cell, and assembly levels
Design, implement, and operate test software for automated testing of multi-junction solar cells and assemblies
Write and maintain software for Automated Test Systems, including environmental testing, calibration, and data analysis
Develop and implement equipment improvements for data quality, throughput, and low cost
Develop other tools and methods in support of our material development, reliability programs and failure analysis
Provide sustaining engineering support to Production
Work in a team environment with ownership over specific tasks, and support other team members as needed
Participate in failure analysis and design verification
Increase process yields by interfacing and working with all processes that are inputs to Test and measurement
Perform Gauge R&R Analysis for test equipment
Prepare specifications and costs for purchase of new test equipment
Set up and troubleshoot new test equipment and processes
Write and release documentation
Maintain compliance to ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards and customer specific requirements as applicable
Run the equipment calibration program
Train and mentor technicians and operators
REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or relevant related field
5 or more years of experience with at least 2 years test or characterization of solar cells, optical products, data storage products, or products in a related industry
Strong hands-on experience in software development using C/C++, Visual Basic, LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent platform
Deep knowledge of test equipment, communications hardware and software and strong skills in testing, programming, and calibrating solar cells, optical or electronic products
Highly-motivated to learn new concepts quickly and ask analytical questions
Demonstrated ability with troubleshooting, problem solving and critical thinking
The ability to communicate well in a team
The ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at once
Ability to clearly document a plan for a project, record the results and be able to present the results in a relevant way to a diverse audience
HIGHLY PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with measurements on solar cells such as illuminated current-voltage (IV), quantum efficiency (QE), capacitance-voltage (CV), reflectivity
Understanding of photovoltaic technologies and devices
Experience with compound semiconductor materials and devices
Experience with reliability testing of physical products
Experience with data visualization
Experience with Python and MySQL
Experience working in a ISO and lean manufacturing environment
Experience training and mentoring personnel
