International Housing Coordinator Job Opening in Iowa Falls, Iowa - The International Housing Coordinator will ensure all of our international candidates have a successful and smooth on-boarding and integration into our company while meeting all compliance expectations and working towards their own independence. This individual will help arrange transportation, housing, government services and family resources to help with the transition.
Key position responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:
Arrange all transportation from foreign country to Iowa including transportation from airport and overnight hotel accommodations.
Submit payments to accounting timely for the incoming international candidates so their money is available on day one.
Create and maintain community welcome kits for all towns and cities eligible for employee relocation
Temporary Housing Assistance establish temporary housing for employees and maintain an inventory of available housing options for incoming candidates in designated production areas
Maintain a list of approved and essential living items for stocking and distribution to incoming employees
Assist employees with locating permanent housing and assist with transitioning families from temporary to permanent housing
If applicable, assist with the enrollment of candidate's children in local school and schedule all necessary medical appointments.
Establish great relationships with the landlords and check in periodically to ensure everything is going as it should.
Ensure payments to landlords are being approved and completed.
Transportation Assistance coordinate weekly transportation schedules and serve as part time driver for employee transportation to and from job sites and community locations.
Ensure managers are communicated to ahead of time in regards to the schedule and any updates and take into consideration their feedback while writing the schedule.
Ensure biosecurity is maintained with the transportation schedule.
Responsible for overseeing the transportation drivers and answering any questions they have day to day.
Train new drivers as they come on board.
Ensure all protocols and processes are being executed.
Work closely with the managers at the training farm locations in regards to updates around transportation and housing.
Establish relationships with government programs and the individuals at the locations that we frequent regularly bank, social security office, DOT, etc.
Ensure every candidate has these scheduled in at the appropriate times and that they all get completed within compliance.
Coordinator will maintain a continuous flow of communication to members of the HR team, farm managers and company leadership to keep them informed of any issues or feedback.
Work with the HR team to maintain documentation and appropriate recordkeeping, including but not limited to program costs, compliance, updating company documents and spreadsheets and creating communication tools and resources to help transition employees.
Outreach and collaborate with area research to establish ESL and Spanish course for employees; market and promote the program opportunities to all employees
Serve as a liaison for all international candidates and the Iowa Select Farms HR team.
Administer employee satisfaction surveys for international employees and their direct supervisors.
Maintain close communication with all International Candidates throughout onboarding process to ensure a positive transition to the US and Iowa Select Farms.
Monitor cost controls of supplies for purchases of housing and onboarding while maintaining consistency.
Submit expenses timely and accurately.
Attend all conference calls and weekly meetings in regards to the international candidates.
Attend the bimonthly HR meetings.
Confidentiality of information is required.
Demeanor should be positive and professional at all times.
Daily focus should be on welfare of animals, not personal issues.
Attendance is critical. Be at work on scheduled days and be ready to walk into barns by start time given.
Be friendly, positive, helpful, team-oriented and respectful to co-workers and management team.
Flexibility in hours during staffing challenges is required; as well as a willingness to accommodate a flexible daily schedule.
Collaborate with other departments within the company.
Adhere to ISF animal well-being policy at all times and partnering with Production Well-being team when incident occurs.
Adhere to ISF bio-security policy at all times and fixing violation if issue is brought to light.
Adhere to ISF safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) for appropriate tasks and work in a safe manner.
Bilingual: Spanish speakers encouraged to apply, but it is not a required skill for the position.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
This person must demonstrate sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
They must be able to establish and carry out specific courses of action for self and/ or groups by organizing and prioritizing tasks.
Must be dependable and demonstrate strong problem solving capabilities.
Must be able to create and participate in a team environment.
Be able to effectively communicate orally, in person and over the telephone, and in writing, using electronic devises and handwritten, with other employees and organizational contacts.
Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PPT.
The employee must always present a professional image in dress, language and action at all times promoting trust and confidence in the team and the organization.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, as well as pushing, pulling, bending and kneeling.
The employee must have the ability to sit for long periods of time with users locally or on the phone. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls, or animals.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
The environment the employee will be working in is a climate-controlled office with hazards typical to that environment.
The employee must be able to, with or without accommodation, work in all facilities within the requirements of this job description.
