Junior Accountant Job Opening in Morris Plains, New jersey - AHS Investment Corporation is seeking a Junior Accountant for our growing Morris Plains, NJ office. The Junior Accountant is responsible for cash transfers and bank reconciliations. As well as preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports, maintaining general ledger account integrity and providing support to the Senior Accountant.
AHS Investment Corporation is the for-profit affiliate of Atlantic Health System, a non-profit five hospital healthcare system. We provide health care services to the residents of NJ through our wholly owned subsidiaries which are At Home Medical, Atlantic Private Care, and the Alliance Center for Weight Management. AHS Investment Corporation owns and manages real estate properties surrounding the member hospitals and has multiple joint ventures.
AHS Investment Corporation is also a Management Service Organization (MSO) providing administrative, management and financial services to other AHS organizations.
Responsibilities Include:
Complete daily cash transfers and create and post journal entries related to transfers, if applicable
Prepare multiple monthly bank reconciliations.
Collect data necessary for month-end close process.
Prepare and post monthly general journal entries to NetSuite accounting software, including but not limited to revenue, payroll, accounts payable, and cash receipts.
Maintain and post recurring journal entries.
Monthly general ledger account analysis/ reconciliation including but not limited to preparation of adjustments (reallocations, accruals, reclassifications) when necessary, prior to month-end close.
Create monthly analysis schedules related to various entities as requested.
Reconcile intercompany amounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare invoices monthly for management fees and/or intercompany charges.
Prepare schedules and analysis related to year-end audit, ensuring accuracy of presentation of financial reporting
Prepare check requests as necessary and submit to AP.
Perform functions of accounts payable clerk as it relates to specific entities, if necessary.
Contribute to special projects as requested.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 0-1 years accounting experience; or 2 years related accounting experience.
Must possess excellent communication & computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of non-profit and for-profit healthcare accounting a plus
NetSuite software experience a plus.
Must be detail oriented and organized and have the ability to identify and solve problems.
This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
