Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Reports To: President/Chief Operating Officer
Manages: Sales, marketing, and commissioned sales personnel
Summary/Objective
The VP of Sales and Marketing is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management within that department. As a key senior leader, expectations include and limited to cross functional leadership, financial performance, and team development.
Essential Functions
Develops and implements strategic marketing and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating plans coordinating with other leaders
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing, and other activities to develop effective counter measures
Establishes value pricing structure for standard products while also supporting Customer Service Team on setting effective value pricing for spares
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners leading to successful deal closure and sales expansion
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
Identify, recruit, and retain key sales & marketing talent while developing bench strength and succession planning
Identify and support strategic partnership opportunities and technology partners
Core Quantitative Objectives
Obtain or exceed annual sales targets and obtain >10% YoY revenue growth
Increase new product sales such as e-CPH, UniCoaster 2.0 to comprise >25% of revenue YoY
Identify and secure at least 3 international orders per year in new markets & customers
Evaluate and create effective value pricing and/or productivity opportunities leading to >3% point EBTDA expansion YoY
Maintain department expense at or below plan targets as % of revenue
Travel
Will vary and includes out-of-the-area and overnight travel as needed. International travel is also possible. Expected travel to average 25%.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Sales and Marketing
Ten or more (10+) years of related experience with progressive management experience
Experience with highly engineered products or equipment in either a volume manufacturing or engineer to build environment
Preferred Education and Experience
Master?s degree in Sales and Marketing
10+ years in the amusement and attraction industry
Maintenance, repair and overhaul sales experience
Employment Package
Salary range of $110,000 - $130,000
Annual performance based bonus: 10-20%
