IT Support Specialist Job Opening in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - Pine Run is a not-for-profit, continuing care retirement community owned and operated by Doylestown Hospital. We are currently hiring an IT Support Specialist to assist with the installation, support, and troubleshooting of computer and networking equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support.
Confer with associates and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
Supervise and coordinate workers engaged in problem-solving, monitoring, and installing data communication equipment and software.
Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users
Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs.
Create and document all procedures, policies, and training materials.
Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associates degree with certification or a bachelors? degree in related field is preferred.
2-5 years of experience is highly desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are a must.
Excellent problem solving skills is needed in this role.
A general knowledge of network connectivity, integration and protocols is required.
Must possess knowledge of software development theories, methodologies and standards.
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must have a reliable vehicle for supporting multi-campus locations.
Must be available for on-call support as scheduled.
