Staff Accountant Job Opening in Scottsdale, Arizona - SUMMARY
The Staff Accountants? primary responsibility is to assist the Sr. Controller in the accurate preparation and presentation of the financial statements of the company (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flow and all supporting schedules) and other reports necessary for the financial reporting requirements of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process daily transactions for the finance function:
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable and billing
Fixed assets accounting
Banking, cash management and credit cards
Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable
Process daily deposits and monthly bank reconciliations
Ensure company credit card is paid timely and c/c issue resolution
LOC advances/payments and other bank interactions
General Accounting
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions
Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, advising management on needed actions
Protect assets by monitoring and enforcing internal controls
Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Interact with third parties in matters pertaining to accounting and tax issues
Assist the tax preparer in the preparation of all data and journal entries required for tax
Trackers & Reporting
Create and maintain project trackers per work orders and changes
Create and maintain budgets and forecast tabs in CTMS, update changes to trackers for revenue reporting
Weekly revenue report with PowerPoint Tracker slides
Work closely with operations on all contracts and agreements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Experience in full-cycle accounting
Industry experience (Clinical or Research) preferred
Strong Excel skills
Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems such as QuickBooks
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
