This role is for a hands-on developer/engineer with automation experience in the domain of network infrastructure. The candidate will research, define, document and promote technical directions as well as high-level designs. The candidate will be responsible for the automation of manual activities performed by network engineers such as network changes, validation, configuration management, as well as building integrations with 3 rd party tools and APIs with an overall goal to improve stability of the network, to reduce the number of human-related errors, and to free network engineers to work on higher level activities. The position requires a strong background in tools and automation, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Python, and a solid understanding of leading and emerging IT concepts. Primary Responsibilities:
Development of tactical tools and automation solutions for the Global Network Services organization which is responsible for Fidelity?s voice, data, and Internet infrastructure
Evaluate and provide technical solutions to complex network infrastructure automation projects while interfacing with a peer automation team responsible for building a strategic/complex network API as part of an internal cloud initiative
Work effectively with peers on best practices, design, and implementation while participating in a small agile development team
Work closely with the network engineers to translate automation requirements into robust and thoroughly tested solutions
Mentor other team members and encourage automation throughout the organization

Design, develop and implement highly complex software solutions for the network engineering services.
Automate work requests for networking services to allow the team to streamline work intake and become more efficient.
Design, Develop and implement micro-services for connectivity to cloud service providers. (Azure, AWS, Google)
Strong Knowledge of Python
Strong knowledge of micro-service creation
Strong knowledge of Ansible or equivalent
Strong technical writing skills
Mentoring of junior team members
Application Test Suite creation
Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills
Engineering customer solutions based on requirements
Consulting with customers on best practices to provide them with solutions they need
Troubleshoot issues related to software application development
Documentation of complex technologies and topologies based on security based practices
Management of life cycle for various technologies within the space (includes vendor management)
Shift-oriented operations support, in collaboration with operations and engineering staff
Work closely with all EI divisions to ensure 24x7 availability GNS services
Escalating issues as needed
Assisting in trouble shooting issues
Member of 3rd level engineering escalation on-call rotation
Some of the projects the resource was working on revolved around the development of first was to Automate AWS network infrastructure that provisions VPC, Security Group Rules and Direct second was developing a python based Juniper firewall automation package in a docker container.
