Accountant/Financial Analyst Job Opening in New York, New york - Trade Supply Group (TSG) is the managing company for a number of Best-In-Class building supply distributors in the NY metro area. We are currently looking to hire an Accountant/Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, adaptable, highly analytical and be able to multi-task. Looking for an ambitious self-starter with great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Prepare monthly P&L statement and present results to management teams
Assist in month end close procedures
Record bank activity and perform bank reconciliations
Post accounts payables and ensure vendor discounts are realized
Prepare all supporting balance sheet schedules: including but not limited to Depreciation, Accruals, Ledger reconciliations
Process and review invoices and expense reports for documentation and approval
Complete check runs
Prepare schedules for Year-End Audit
Perform accounts receivable and payable functions including: billings, collections and monitoring; ensuring clean Accounts Payable Agings, Unbilled Accounts Payable Agings and Accounts Receivable Agings
Assist in document retention and maintain contract listings
Enter payroll by department
Ensure checks and cash receipts are recorded and deposited in a timely manner
Assist in determining inventory valuation issues and proper inventory write-offs
Maintain 1099 vendor listing
Handle customer and vendor inquiries and perform reconciliations as needed
Complete various daily, weekly and monthly reporting; including a Daily Flash Report, Sales Reporting and Inventory Valuation reports
Assist in audit work and support
Prepare Ad-hoc and value added analysis as required
Required Skills:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
At least 1-3 years accounting experience
Excellent Excel skills- Must understand and be able to utilize advance Excel functions (ie: vlookups and pivot tables)
Ability to work with all levels of management and personnel
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
CPA track a plus
