Accounting Specialist Job Opening in Melville, New york - Achieve Beyond is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist to join their growing team. This position will provide accounting support to the financial accounting areas, including general ledger accounting and accounts receivable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilites:
Maintain accounts receivable and revenue general ledger accounts and subsidiary journals to support financial transactions
Deposit and record all cash transactions to the bank for 5 companies
Record revenues and corresponding write-offs by obtaining revenue from billing systems (CLAIMS and Raintree)
Prepare monthly aging reports to reconcile the variance between the accounting and billing systems
Accurately perform monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
Research and investiage any payment or revenue variances and obtain resolutions in a timely manner by proposing adjusting entries to Senior Accountant prior to preparation of financial statements
Work closely with accounts receivable department to ensure timely application of payments and reconcile monthly payments
Perform ad hoc projects as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or related concentration
1-2 years experience in a related field
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Qualifications and Other Requirements:
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills
Detail oriented
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Team Oriented
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
SAGE ERP or MAS preferred
