This position manages assigned commodities and supply base to meet corporate objectives in the most efficient manner to minimize risk, reduce cost, and eliminate waste, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Job Category: Full time Location: Highland, IL Pay Rate: based on experience Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Similar positions: purchasing, supply chain, procurement Job Duties: -Review assigned commodities for material budget as required. -Recommend and maintain supplier relationships to meet corporate objectives -Ensure availability of materials to meet production schedules -Assist in make/buy decisions -Negotiate contracts to meet corporate objectives -Approve purchase orders to ensure compliance to requirements for assigned commodities -Maintain database to ensure data is correct for components and supplier information -Work with Standards Engineering & Engineering to establish manufacturers of needed components -Follow market trends, advise management of recommended changes to commodities due to trends/situations -Ensure purchase orders are issued to cover requirements for assigned products, goods and services -Coordinate and negotiate all issues related to supplier quality, delivery, and cost issues Requirements: -2 years experience as a Buyer or a related field, preferably in manufacturing -Bachelors Degree in business or other related field -Ability to speak and write in clear, understandable manner -Ability to exchange and furnish information requiring detailed explanations and discussions with suppliers and various levels of personnel -Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and AS400 -Long periods of sitting -Clean criminal background -Clean drug screen Please send resume. saint st louis mo missouri
