Territory Sales Representative - San Diego Job Opening in San Diego, California - AleSmith Brewing Company seeks a Full-Time Sales Representative for Southern California!!!
If you are passionate about craft beer, we are currently looking for a Territory Sales Representative for Southern California to develop and manage distributor accounts, while growing volume and visibility; create new procedures and SOP's related to new market/product launches and promotional events; and uphold Company philosophy, guidelines, policies, SOP's and safety procedures in assigned territories.
We are in the midst of a large expansion, providing an amazing opportunity for career growth, as our Sales Representative will play a major role in promoting our brand and product as we grow from mostly local to national and international interest.
Our Sales Representative will:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key on and off premises accounts
Promote and sell draft and bottled beer, while growing distribution and volume in assigned territories
Create and improve the visibility of the brand in assigned territories
Handle new distributor inquiries and processing of new and recurring orders
Assist Sales Director in executing business plans to meet annual goals and drive accountability with distributors and key accounts
Assist in planning and coordinating new market/product launches and promotions to ensure achievement of sales goals
Assist in creating and presenting monthly and annual reviews to distributors
Update sales database with orders from distributors
Prepare monthly sales and marketing reports on market research, competitors, and activity for monthly presentation to Management Team
Update and maintain calendar of market launches and festivals in assigned territories and share with Leadership Team
Adhere to and maintain annual budget with direction from Sales Director
Stay abreast of current legislation and trends within the industry and communicate relevant information to Sales Director
Research and participate in continuous education related to the role, such as customer service, sales techniques and the craft beer industry
Assist in resolving customer and distributor issues and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the integrity of the Company
Take an active role in monthly meetings conducted by distributor management
Provide weekly reports on territory activities to Sales Director
Represent Company by attending and/or pouring at special events such as beer dinners and beer festivals
Follow all Company safety procedures, policies, and SOP's
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: A Certificate and/or Diploma from a Business School, or equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an influential sales roles within the craft beer or beverage industries
BJCP and/or Cicerone certification (or agreement to enroll in a program)
At least 21 years of age
Strong interpersonal skills with a successful proven track record of developing strong relationships and meeting/exceeding sales goals
Solid knowledge of beer styles and the craft brewery industry
Demonstrate approachability, composure, and strong customer service orientation
Experience or education in is preferred
Solutions-oriented, self-motivated, and results driven
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced computer skills with MicroSoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong decision making, planning and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors
Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish goals
Well organized with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
Ability to lift 55 lbs regularly and stand for long periods of time
Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special work-related events such as beer dinners, tap takeovers, etc.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
