University Center Imaging is looking for a smart and talented individual to fill the role of Authorizations Specialist at a busy imaging center in Melbourne, Florida.
We are specifically looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position and who has a history of long tenures with previous employers.
As an Authorizations Specialist, you will be responsible for verifying patient's insurance eligibility and calculating out of pocket expense. This position offers you the opportunity to consistently interact and work with company management. It also offers the ability to learn and grown in other areas of the practice for those seeking to grow their career and expand their skills.
Essential Functions Include:
Properly entering all patient information into E.H.R.
Follows all HIPAA guidelines
Makes courtesy calls to patients
Ability to calculate OOP responsibilities to patient
Ability to maintain confidential information
Detail oriented
Ability to understand orders, obtain authorizations with precise details
Ability to understand insurance terminology such as guarantor, primary, group ID and subscriber ID
Knowledge of payable diagnosis codes for ordered exams
Ability to check physician status, i.e. PECOS, and understanding of physicians non-eligible to order such as chiropractors
