Practice Director Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - The New England College of Optometry (NECO) Center for Eye Care is Boston?s premier comprehensive vision care resource with two distinct clinics located on Commonwealth Avenue and Roslindale Square. NECO Center for Eye Care serves a diverse patient population at all stages of life, with approximately 16,000 patient visits annually and about $3M in net patient revenue annually. With the goal of delivering exceptional patient care, the Practice Director will support a team of optometrists, clinic leaders and staff that provides comprehensive eye care. Our services include Primary Eye Care, Cornea & Contact Lens Services, Vision Therapy, Pediatric Eye Care, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Consultative Ophthalmic Care, and Myopia Control Consultation and Services. The Practice Director provides direct leadership in the coordination of functional areas including front desk operations, optical center, contact lens services, billing and collections, primary and specialty care services, clinical research, and credentialing.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee development and management of clinic sites? budgets, ensuring smooth and fiscally responsible operations, meeting financial targets
Ensure exceptional patient experience through implementation of high standards of care and customer service
Evaluate data and reporting capabilities and collaborate with individuals in key areas to develop a set of reports and metrics that enable leadership to monitor trends, assess performance, measure progress, and assess variances in each sites? financial performance
Identify and implement performance improvement strategies for each service area, develop annual goals for each site and create and monitor useful dashboard measures to gauge progress towards site goals
Collaborate with Marketing to develop strategies to communicate with patients and increase visits
Develop and implement standard operating and training procedures to standardize practice management across sites for the entire cycle of service
Coordinate training and support of our Electronic Health Record service, Compulink
Develop and maintain proper document management procedures
Collaborate with Facilities to ensure effective practice facility management
Represent the clinic in the community, collaborate and partner with other with other organizations
Represent the College at selected meetings
Ensure compliance with licensing, legal, and funding requirements and regulations, assure compliance and proper credentialing of sites, clinicians, and insurance panels
Additional responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; written and oral communications; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing patient complaints, conflict resolution, and problem resolution.
You will also collaborate with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Clinical Education to ensure our patient care, clinical training and practice management goals are properly aligned.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree required, advanced degree preferred, with minimum 5 years demonstrated experience as the practice manager or director of an eye or medical practice;
Knowledge of principles and practices of health center management and practice administration;
Demonstrated skill in planning, organizing, and coordinating service operations, preferably across multiple sites;
Ability to motivate and supervise managers effectively and lead complex team based operations;
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and planning skills;
Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local health policy, and regulations affecting health centers;
Basic knowledge of quality improvement tools and processes.
Experience with/understanding of importance of culturally competent care;
Demonstrated experience in the entire cycle of service for a healthcare practice, with eye care background preferred;
Understanding of, or ability to learn private insurance and vision plan rules and regulations;
Willingness to be flexible with schedule
