About The Role
We are now looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to assist with managing the day-to day financial activities at our dynamic and exciting attraction. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include financial reporting, month close, and cash room management. This role is a full time, exempt; based upon working 5 days out of 7 (typically Monday to Friday) however flexibility is required as there may be times when you will need to work weekends and outside or normal operating times.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of revenue reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash room management.
Work closely with the Finance Manager and General Manager to manage capital project budgets.
Provide support to Commercial Manager by assisting with the analysis of revenue, cost of sales and inventory management.
Support Finance Manager with preparation of budgets, business plans, and capital plans.
Monthly accounting close and reporting processes, insuring all Merlin Entertainments, plc., financial policies and controls are maintained and followed.
Ensure at all times to deliver the highest level of customer service to internal and external partners, clients, suppliers, and guests.
Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of cash room team members. Ensuring all team members are trained to ensure the integrity of the cash room and the highest standards of accurate and efficient cash handling procedures are followed.
About You
Minimum 2-3 years of accounting and/or finance experience in the service or entertainment industry; including a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, hotel or theater environment.
Strong computer skills. Ability to utilize standard software applications to include MS Office suite and advance excel skills.
Excellent knowledge of accounting software.
Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
Excellent management and interpersonal skills
Possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Desire to work in fast-paced environments
Must be flexible to work shifts outside normal business hours, may include some weekends and holidays; especially during month end.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
