The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, the Staff Accountant will be instrumental in improving existing processes, procedures and systems. S/he will own the accounting for the entire enterprise. S/he will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced leadership team while being challenged by stretch assignments and other professional development opportunities. Ongoing responsibilities will include:
Perform daily accounting activities for all revenue and expense transactions.
Support month-end and year-end close process, including accruals, analysis, and financial statement preparation.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Analyze complex financial reports and records.
Make accounting recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Prepare journal entries.
Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations through researching underlying accounting records and process flows.
Prepare cash forecast.
Assist with financial and tax audits.
Document and monitor internal controls in support of auditing team.
Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the group accounting and finance team or with other departments.
Prepare special reports/projects, as necessary, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Candidate Qualifications
BS in Accounting with proven accounting experience, and a minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in a high-growth company and/or public accounting.
Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
Experience with Intacct accounting software a plus.
