Business Manager Job Opening in Mission, Kansas - Business Manager Needed - Available Immediately
Small but growing engineering firm seeks a sharp, industrious, independent and self-driven Business Manager. This is a 30 hours per week commitment with full-time benefits and flexible schedule possible. The selected individual will perform a variety of functions, including:
Primary responsibilities:
Managing company communications, meetings, calendar, office supplies, records, HR policies, expenses, payroll, timesheets, and company car maintenance
Managing owner?s personal financial accounts, bills and expenses
Engaging as necessary HR, accounting, insurance, legal, engineering, and software consultants
Working with vendors to maintain office equipment including computers, plotters, copy machine and support services
Negotiating and contracting with business service providers as necessary (company insurance policies, telephone/internet agreements, office equipment leases, specialized software, etc.)
Managing multi-state compliance for professional engineering licenses, including monitoring accumulation of professional development hours (PDH)
Ancillary support activities :
Assist owner and team with day-to-day office management, working independently and taking initiative to complete tasks to help the organization run seamlessly
Assist with company documents, including email correspondence, proposals, company research papers and lecture notes
Review and comment on documents received, including engagement letters, retainer agreements, legal documents, scopes of work, and non-disclosure agreements
Assist in the company webpage, social media pages and other marketing materials
Serve as point of contact for employees and vendors
Prepare conference room for meetings and events
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:
3+ years previous office management experience ? construction and/or engineering related business experience preferred but not required .
Highly knowledgeable of basic accounting principles including payroll, payables and receivables
Highly proficient with QuickBooks Pro, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Bluebeam REVU a plus but not required
Strong ethical foundation, with the confidence to interject when necessary ? we value your opinion!
Effective problem solving skills and the ability to self-manage
Strong office, administrative, and people skills ? flexible and good-natured!
Excellent written communication skills
