Duties:
The Test Engineer ensures that test plans and procedures support all applicable software and related system requirements.
The Test Engineer develops software test plans and procedures and conducts functional, performance and regression testing.
The Test Engineer ensures that systems requirements are described in a manner that is testable.
The Test Engineer assesses the system requirements are described in a manner that is testable.
The Test Engineer assesses the readiness of test plans, procedures, people and technical environments to conduct testing.
The Test Engineer evaluates the completeness and quality of testing results and determines what corrective actions are required to meet applicable system requirements.
The Test Engineer researches and recommends test tools.
Familiarity with Ruby Rails is required.
Tasks:
Perform analysis of documented user requirements and reviews design of test plans in support of user requirements for software or IT systems.
Review user application system requirements documentation.
Review and assess sufficiency of application test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
Participate in all phases of software development to keep abreast of system requirements and specifications and development of corresponding test plans, procedures and scripts and test tools selection.
Estimates for software-testing cost and schedule.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
Evaluate the sufficiency of standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
Establish configuration requirements of software test environment and assess the sufficiency of software environments for adequately testing software performance.
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
Update automated test scripts to ensure currency.
Coordinate user or third party testing.
Conduct historical analyses of test results.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
15+ years of related experience required
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
