Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse RN Job Opening in Ames, Iowa - GIFTED Healthcare is seeking Infusion Therapy Registered Nurses RNs with extensive IV experience to plan, administer, and evaluate professional nursing services for patients in their home.

Requirements:
Current compact nursing license or state nursing license
Two years' acute care experience, one to two years' recent clinical experience as an Infusion Therapy RN or in infusion therapy and/or 6 months home health/home infusion therapy experience
Valid driver?s license
Exceptional organizational, decision-making and time management skills
Strong knowledge of home infusion therapy
Ability to work with others as a part of a team
Communicate effectively both verbally and written with patients, clients, management and other employees
Ability to plan and problem solve
Possess current BLS certification
Strong computer skills and efficient in Microsoft suite
Ability to manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure
Knowledge of all patient ages ranging from Neonate to Geriatric
Must have a reasonably flexible schedule

Electronic thermometer
Electronic and manual blood pressure cuffs
NG tube care
Foley Catheters
Specialty beds
Portable oxygen
Feeding pumps (Kangaroo, Infinity)
Infusion pump (Cadd Solis, Acclaim, Syringe, Cadd Prism, Body Guard, Dial A Flow, ect.)
PCA
AED/Defibrillator
All other equipment deemed necessary for patient care
Responsibilities :
Maintain clinical nursing skills and knowledge of in-home infusion therapy by reviewing literature and attending in-services and seminars
Review all new GIFTED infusion patient orders and ensure accurate administration routes and medication use based on the 6 patient rights
Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the GIFTED infusion patient
Consistently demonstrate accurate assessment, reassessment, and of plan of care
Identify and document patient?s progress including results of laboratory data, clinical data and other pertinent information
Document and report results of patient assessment and significant changes to the physician, pharmacist and GIFTED Infusion Clinical Manager
Program infusion control devices as indicated
Provide consultation and answer inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medications and their use
Serve as the patient and family advocate regarding decisions that affect their care
Maintain thorough and efficient documentation
Participate in patient care meetings with GIFTED Infusion Clinical Manager and other infusion colleagues to report on patient progress, share resource material, and discuss patient care goals
Prepare reports as requested
Determine appropriate nursing action in crisis/emergency situations based on policy and procedures
Coordinate nursing and delivery efforts to ensure consistency and quality care
Delegate patient care appropriately to staff nurses based on competency and patient acuity
Perform accurate hand-off communication to the appropriate staff accepting the care of a patient
