Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Greenwich, Connecticut - We are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist to join an amazing team in Greenwich, CT. In this role the A/P and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of payroll, withholding for federal, state, local and social security taxes, and deductions for employee benefits, garnishments, etc. Maintain production records, timesheets, and payroll system. Prepare state and federal tax returns, month-end close, and reconciliation of quarterly returns to the general ledger. This position will also help with Accounts Payable functions as well.
This position will be responsible for processing all employee-related information with the Company?s third party provider system which includes managing bi-weekly payroll, performing accounting-related tasks such as preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports and forms, and reconciliation of the quarterly returns to the general ledger. Other related duties may be assigned by Director of HR.
Responsibilities:
Payroll
Experience in processing multi-state payroll activities in accordance with guidelines and legal requirements.
Ability to review incoming payroll hours/earnings from timesheets and work with the appropriate management to resolve discrepancies and pay issues, and process payments as necessary to ensure the accuracy of bi-weekly payroll
Ability to audit personnel and payroll changes and make corrections to information as needed, keeping Supervisor informed of recurring errors, recommending possible solutions for workflow and process improvement.
Audits and produces payroll-related documents and reports for management.
Compiles financial and payroll information for contribution to reports.
Prepares payroll journal entries and month end accruals.
Monitors the payroll and tax accounts to ensure accuracy.
Knowledge of payroll accounting.
Accounts Payable
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Tracking Budget Expenses

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting.
3+ years of total Payroll and Accounts Payable experience.
Experience with Exactime a plus
Must have intermediate knowledge with Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently and as a team player, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Salary: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
