Preregistration Representative Job Opening in Flint, Michigan - Regional Medical Imaging, P.C. (RMI) is a leading outpatient Radiology facility with eight locations. RMI has been serving Mid-Michigan for over 30 years with Board Certified Radiologists and a certified and registered staff whose goals are to continue to meet the fast changing world of imaging and technology. We currently offer a full range of modalities including: Bone Densitometry (DEXA), Breast MRI, Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging, Cryoablation, CT, Fluoroscopy, Image Guided Biopsies, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Ultrasound, and X-Ray.
SUMMARY
Preregisters scheduled patients by obtaining demographic and insurance information. Verifies insurance coverage?s, satisfy requirements, notifies patients of co-pay/deductible amounts due and establishes payment plans if applicable. Coordinates insurance with clinical staff to attain ultimate patient care, provider satisfaction and successful RMI business outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled procedures assuring optimal reimbursement. Documents insurance verification information in a standard format, entering all pertinent information in the RIS system.
· Obtains precertification and/or referral as applicable to authorize patient scheduled procedures.
· Investigates patient?s previous outstanding balances in Sentinal computer system to reduce aged patient receivables. Contacts Patient to coordinate deposits for current co-pay/deductible amount and/or payment for previous outstanding balances. Establishes deposits and payment plans with patient when necessary within RMI established guidelines.
· Coordinates efforts with Radiologists and clinical staff to assure additional pc's/referrals are obtained when and if additional studies are performed on a non-scheduled basis.
· Coordinates efforts with scheduling staff to expedite patient access to services outside of the standard prior authorization time line protocols when necessary.
· Works with referring and their staff on patients insurance requirements, eligibility and benefits as necessary.
· Works with billing staff to produce clean claims, reduce rejections and optimize reimbursements through the insurance verification and prior authorization process.
· Maintains relationships with all RMI staff, referring Physicians, referring Physician staff and RMI patients.
