Job Description Summary
The Business Risk Analyst is responsible for developing, running, and managing business intelligence capabilities to analyze business data as required by the business needs of the company. This position must provide for improved reporting capabilities, automation and standardization of company reports, and facilitates easy visualization of business data to guide business decisions.
This is a position of high responsibility as it requires that exceptional care and attention be provided to the timely provision of reports and specialized queries to mine data to achieve business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Define, document, and review with internal and external customers business specifications for reports and queries to business data
Develop, run, and maintain all company reports
Develop and maintain the standardization of company reports and when applicable provide automation to the process of running reports
Troubleshoot reports and work closely with database administrators to provide quick turn-around resolution to issues affecting database operations
Develop in collaboration with internal and external customers, reporting capabilities for users to schedule and run business intelligence reports on their own
Collaborate with business analysts and others within the company to develop complementary tools that improve the efficiency of data interpretation and intelligence gathering from business data
Ensure that data is delivered as requested in a timely manner to internal and external customers to meet business deadlines

Competencies: Strong organizational skills including the ability to efficiently complete daily tasks and/or special projects in a timely and accurate manner. Attention to detail and multi- tasking skills are critical. Must have the ability to change direction and adjust priorities as necessary, have the abilities to identify and remove obstacles to ensure efficiency and expense reduction and to anticipate and adjust work schedule to complete high priority tasks and/or data requests.
Communication: Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal customers, external vendors and senior management at all levels within the organization.
Excellent Client / Customer Service: Must be able to ensure all agent, customer and/or client related issues are handled in a fast, fair and courteous manner.
Strong decision making skills : Must be able to analyze all available information and formulate sound decisions to effectively resolve a variety of issues.
Analytical skills: Must be able to measure, diagnose, and resolve problems. Must be accurate and have attention to detail. Must be able to gather information to accurately assess and resolve problems.
Education and/or Experience: Qualified candidates must have at least 3+ years? experience performing the duties outlined above for business applications built on Microsoft SQL server databases using Microsoft SQL Server Report Services for Business Intelligence (BI). Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. 3+ years SQL Server 2010/2012 knowledge with in-depth knowledge of T-SQL, Tables, Stored Procedures and Views. Experience with PL/SQL highly desirable. Basic understanding of software development best practices, SDLC, software version control. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
