About the Role
We are looking for a Controller that will be a hands-on manager working within a small team responsible for the accounting operations of the company. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide financial analysis and insight into the operational activities of the business whilst ensuring a robust control environment and balance sheet integrity.
You will be responsible for:
Producing financial reports, maintaining adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk
Enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
Overseeing cash and risk management of the company
Overseeing the accounting operations, their control systems, operations, and policies and procedures
Managing accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, debt
Issuing financial statements, calculating and issuing financial and operating metrics, providing financial analysis as needed
Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Developing new ways of working to streamline operations and remove non-value added activities
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in Management related subjects (ie: BA, Finance, Accounting?)
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations
Experience with commodity-based financing, credit, importing, exporting, and systems implementation
10+ years of related work experience
Experience in Seafood or other fresh/frozen food/retail industry preferred, or manufacturing, distribution services, and inventory management and valuation
Excellent Excel skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to convert data analysis to enable users to understand performance and make informed decisions
Proactive, positive and customer focused attitude
