Senior Accountant Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Successful Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking a motivated and organized individual for our Accounting Department. Qualified candidates must be able to multi-task in a busy customer service oriented environment.
Job duties include:
Facilitate as assigned, the preparation of Budgets, Forecasts, and Board presentations - must have strong budgeting and forecasting skills
Conduct and ensure monthly financial statements are accurate and in accordance with accounting practices.
Review and analyze financial statements and report discrepancies and other issues
Participates in Year End Audit and Annual Statement preparation
Review the work of staff accountant for accuracy and completeness
Reconciling general ledger accounts
Month-end closing procedures
Review of bi-weekly payroll and facilitate approval and release to ADP for processing
Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned
Qualified applicants will possess a BS in Accounting, Finance or other related field and at least 5 years progressive accounting experience. Must have strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Applications is necessary as well as ability to maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability and confidentiality.
