Plant Manager Job Opening in Livingston, Tennessee - POSITION DESCRIPTION
BASIC PURPOSE
Directs and Coordinates activities of a respective company operation/plant to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES
FUNCTIONAL SCOPE
· Reports to President & CEO
· Interfaces on regular basis with corporate staff vice presidents and other plant managers and corporate purchasing
· Maintains close working relationships with corporate engineering and quality control, human resources and finance, as well as respective community officials, union officials, attorneys, vendors and customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree level of knowledge in business administration or engineering
· 10+ years related manufacturing experience
· 5+ years automotive supplier experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plans and develops organization policies and goals, and implements goals through subordinate administrative personnel.
· Coordinates activities of Human Resources, production operations, engineering, quality assurance, and accounting to effect operational efficiency and economy.
· Supports promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain/sustain competitive position in industry.
· Analyzes plant or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget.
· Confers with administrative personnel, reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
· Assists in developing budgets and managing financial results
· Must possess proficient knowledge of profit loss statements and balance sheet financial reporting
· Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques including: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Visual Management and JIT
· Must demonstrate strong leadership and motivational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Directs preparation of directives to department managers outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
· Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade association.
· Provides a vision and mission via strategy plan, policy development and annual budget.
· Develops a team committed to common goals, working together following the plans above to achieve the organizational goals.
· Provides training and guidance to meet demands of organizational goals.
· Evaluates performance to goals; operations meetings/plant reviews.
· Responsible for fostering continuous improvement in quality, cost and delivery.
· Provides leadership to relevant cross-functional platform teams as Senior Advisor.
· Develops and supports programs to prevent Safety and Environmental nonconformities.
· Has a spending authority that is granted in the "A" Order Spending limit that is maintained by the Corporate Controller and CEO in the legacy AS400 software.
