Project Manager Job Opening in Falls Church, Virginia - Background
Process Air Force medical malpractice claims, Active Duty Malpractice cases, and perform general Project and Risk Management for the Air Force Medical Operations Agency.
Job Duties
Duties will include:
Review monthly medical malpractice payment reports and clinical and administrative adverse actions and process them in accordance with Air Force Medical Quality Operations standards. Advise the AFMOA leadership on Clinical Quality/Risk Management program. Determine completeness of required documentation within the claim or case file upon receipt by utilizing Government-supplied checklist and take urgent action (within 5 days) for those claims which are incomplete. Perform required tasks to maintain Medical Quality Operations such as: preparing a checklist summary for all malpractice claims, prepare all documents relating to medical malpractice claims to present at monthly board meetings, prepare meeting minutes for all board meetings, prepare claim summaries for all paid malpractice claims, review, update, and edit all medical malpractice claims and release findings to the Department Health Agency. Respond to official requests for information from involved healthcare providers, hospital RMs, insurance companies, credentialing agencies, state licensing boards, and other parties. Support AFMOA with the of risk management tools. Collaborate with other AFMOA personnel in adverse event forums to analyze patient safety events and adverse events in order to develop process improvement activities; then disseminate lessons learned. Maintain a system of records in accordance with AFI 44-119 and appropriate Record Information Management System table/rules. Serve as Records Custodian for all Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) risk management products. Maintain all AFMS healthcare risk management products and documents in accordance with Title 10, USC Section 1102, the Privacy Act of 1974, HIPAA, and other applicable Federal statutes. Support facility risk manager with daily risk management program; train risk manager on use of CCQAS, troubleshoot user issues, and refer to the help desk when necessary. Coordinate meetings and teleconferences with AFMOA leadership to ascertain progress and problem areas that need attention. Maintain current DoD and AF training requirements for Information Assurance, HIPAA policy, privacy confidential records management, and any other AFMS training requirement.
Minimum Position Requirements
BA/BS in Business or a Healthcare Related Field
Two (2) years? experience in Clinical Quality/Risk Management program
Two (2) years? experience with program management in Federal Healthcare, Military Health Systems, or AFMS systems
Two (2) years? experience in healthcare quality, risk, and safety processes
