General Job Description: The Sales Manager is responsible for generating tangible immediate for groups of 100 or more.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5+ years in hospitality/event sales at either a restaurant group/hotel/event space/music venue preferred.
Strong sales manager with the ability to generate and develop new business opportunities while nurturing and growing relationships with existing clients.
Must be professional, polished, and articulate.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, able to multitask and maintain excellent records.
Must be able to demonstrate passion and commitment at ownership level.
Must be able to conduct daily business professionally, ethically and with integrity at all times.
Strong creative skills to provide innovative set ups, menus, and functions for groups. Ability to think outside of the box.
Extraordinary attention to detail, productive under pressure.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Caterease, Tripleseat or other software alike.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Generate leads, meet with or call individual clients via telephone/email to solicit daily and annual business.
Book private events and large groups across applicable New York City venues.
Generate, develop and nurture new business and existing relationships.
Further expand client base to generate a steady increase in business through client relationships, solicitation and networking.
Upsell and establish knowledge of guest's needs to increase salesMeet and greet clients.
Answer customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Generate contracts and organize all other event details and arrangements as they related to social and corporate events.
Process billing, cash deposits and payments accurately.
Create proposals, contracts & BEOs as needed.
Follow up on client checks to ensure accuracy.
Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meeting.
Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accurate and consistent BEOs to all departments.
Possess knowledge of all banquet menus.
Actively promote & maintain professional working relations with other operations department.
Investigate, follow up & help settle guest problems.
Keep client(s) informed of all additional charges incurred during the program as applicable.
Track revenue numbers.
Achieve and surpass sales targets.
Oversee Event Sales Coordinator and help them reach sales goals.
Assist in entire venue private event needs, sales needs and overall team sales goals.
