Cygnus Technologies LLC, (part of Maravai Life Sciences) is focused on supplying highly specialized analytical products to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry for use in process development and quality control. As recognized experts in bioprocess contaminant testing for analytes such as host cell proteins, Cygnus offers a broad menu of well-validated, robust generic kits and immunoassay reagents. Cygnus also offers custom product-specific development of antibodies and assays for companies who want to outsource these highly-specialized technologies to the experts. We have an excellent opportunity for two Technical Sales & Marketing Specialists to support our current customer base and drive revenue growth.
Position Summary:
The Technical Sales & Marketing Specialist is a field based position responsible for account support and revenue development in a specific geographic region through the implementation of marketing and sales initiatives to drive awareness and customer engagement. Reporting to the president of Cygnus, you will have responsibility for supporting customers, being an evangelist for Cygnus technology, driving revenue growth, and building brand equity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contact new customers and support existing biopharmaceutical customer base in the areas of bioprocess development, analytical development, quality control, and impurity testing.
Attend trade shows and give technical presentations to customers.
Support distributors in the geographic area.
Collaborate with R&D and the marketing team to develop marketing content priorities.
Provide voice of customer to marketing and management regarding potential new products, competitive initiatives, & customer needs.
Education:
Bachelors degree in the life sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience; M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.
Experience and Qualifications:
At least 3 years marketing or sales experience within the life science industry and familiarity with the analytical tools for the bioprocessing space.
Hands on technical experience in analytical methods including immunoassay, PAGE/western blot, chromatography, bioprocess purification method development, and mass spectrometry.
Effective communication and speaking skills.
Experience in crafting and presenting compelling technical presentations.
Knowledge of biopharmaceutical products and industry including therapeutic proteins and vaccines.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 30%.
