Controller Job Opening in Peoria, Illinois - GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Controller is responsible for providing effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial services. The primary purpose of this position is to manage a professional level accounting operations as it relates to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory, and cash management to ensure that the financial information provided to internal and external users is accurate and timely. The Controller must comply with established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, patient credits and collections, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general ledger and entity
Develop, improve and issue monthly financial records for review by the Director of Finance and all members of Executive Management.
Review general ledger accounts and makes adjusting journal entries
Ensure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when needed
Interface with outside accounting and/or audit firms, banks, lessors, casualty/liability insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection
Supervise overall operations of the Accounting Department
Oversee the reconciliation of all bank accounts on a daily and monthly
Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
Working knowledge of MS Office and Accounting ERP systems
5+ years experience
