Sr. Staff Accountant - FL Panhandle Job Opening in Mobile, Alabama - An international manufacturer with multiple locations is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant for its local manufacturing facility. This position will provide support to the Accounting Manager for this Florida panhandle location. Company offers generous salary + benefit package and a team environment!
Highlighted Duties:
Assists in month end closing, including journal entries
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and file Use Tax returns
Accounts Payable, including check runs
Maintain W-9 files and issue 1099s
Handle vendor inquiries
Support for internal /external audits
Determine explanations for variances between accounts
Maintain and monitor material price variances
Maintain fixed assets
Highlighted Requirements:
BA in Accounting required
Manufacturing experience preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Thorough understanding and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
High degree of self-motivation and independent decision making
Good analytical and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines with informational accuracy and ability to work well under stress
Proficient with Excel and related software for accounting, spreadsheets, etc.
