Assist the CFO and oversee day to day financial reporting functions of the Accounting department. This position will be responsible for accurate and timely account reconciliations and financial statements. This position has a responsibility for maintaining internal controls and developing policies and procedures for the Company. This position is responsible for the hiring, training and retention of accounting staff as well as for inspiring a collaborative and service-oriented environment. This position is responsible for processing payroll and handling all aspects of human resources. The position requires a self-motivated, results-oriented, organized and hardworking individual with excellent communication skills. This position will report directly to the CFO.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
Oversee the month end and year end close procedures.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Coordinate & interface with external accountants for tax and financial statement preparation.
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
Ensure quality internal controls over financial transactions.
Monthly budget vs. actual reporting and analysis.
Manage and maintain Company?s Chart of Accounts.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of all departments.
Ensure proper cutoff of all payable, receivable and inventory transactions.
Monitor and manage cash flows.
Recommend system and process improvements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reduce costs.
Uphold departmental goals and enforce policies, procedures and implement improvements as agreed upon by Management / CFO.
Assist other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Prepare monthly and annual tax, banking and financial reports.
Support budgeting and forecasting actives.
Collaborate with the departmental managers to support company goals and objectives.
Monitor and analyze department workflow to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a standard of excellence.
Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Develop and maintain expertise in all aspects of our ERP software.
Implement training for all accounting staff to reinforce existing skills and to teach new skills.
Promote cross-training and be sure each staff member?s essential duties are handled by another team member at least once a year.
Review and approval of certain departmental purchase orders, invoices and check requests
Review and signing of checks and electronic payments prior to distribution
Interface with key third party
Utilize CRM to track all valuable and pertinent communication and on goings with customers and vendors.
Prepare payroll and oversee human resources including hiring, termination, benefits and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Education and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
Preferred: CPA License
Required: 5 years of progressive experience including at least 3 years of supervisory experience
Preferred: Minimum of 2 years? experience working at a professional services firm
Technical Skills
Required: Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Required: Excellent typing and ten key skills.
Required: Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Preferred: Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP.
