This position manages the Technical Services Department and plays a key role to the Companies success in fulfilling our commitment of customer service, satisfaction and loyalty to our customers. Administers our Quality Control program to ensure products, materials, and services conform to Company quality standards and comply with plan specifications expected by the customer. Also provides technical and quality control expertise to internally support our Sales, Manufacturing, and Accounting departments by evaluating all materials, current products, processes and costs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Recommends annual budget and capital project expenditures of department. Ensures maintenance of accurate records and prepares reports on product quality. Monitors progress, changes, and spending. Responsible for final completion cost and utilization.
Oversees the inspection of staff in conducting their daily testing activities and special assignments. Determine personnel expectations, duties, and requirements. Develop and establish a training program to ensure that the Company maintains a highly motivated and technically competent staff of cross-trained technicians to ensure backup coverage and future succession.
III. Provide planning and scheduling of all routine and special work including the servicing of all production areas within the company with testing and assurance programs to ensure that the highest quality product is being delivered to exceed customer satisfaction. Sets goals and targets for quality measures.
Prepare mix designs. Works with the Sales Department and customers toward attaining mix design and aggregate approvals as needed.
Individual Responsibilities
Work with Sales Department to review all proposed major bids on ready mix and aggregate products. Defines product characteristics, applications, performance, limitations, and technical information for sales promotion.
Provides excellent customer service by addressing business issues and concerns in a timely manner. Exceeds customers expectation of services.
VII. Administer Unit Product Liability Program. Assist in settling disputes and claims to the satisfaction of the customer and the company. Minimizes liability and works to reduce or eliminate reoccurrences.
VIII. Administer Quality Control Program for all Unit products.
Investigate the cause of quality problems as reported by customers or company personnel. Recommend and coordinate corrective measures with Sales and Manufacturing. Communicate changes to appropriate personnel as required. Reports all potential liability incidents.
Complete installation of and manage computer capability for making rapid analysis of quality control test operations.
Responsible to maintain the Command QC System.
Assist in research areas to promote new products and develop new production methods. Advise architects and developers as to the availability, design, performance, and specifications of special mixes for future projects. As necessary, conduct research programs for testing of new materials, including admixtures to maximize concrete mix performance.
Review all externally distributed product information for technical content and product liability exposure. Recommend changes as necessary.
Promote company objectives, policies, and programs to employees within the framework of section responsibility.
XII. Participate in product-related trade associations and professional groups.
XIII. Performs other related duties and special assignments as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

ï?· Bachelors Degree or equivalent in , Civil Engineering, Chemistry, or other related discipline.
ï?· 10+ years of experience in Ready Mix or related industry.
ï?· Prior work experience in quality control testing and inspection of aggregate and concrete materials, as well as ACI & ASTM standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ï?· Work experience of a statistical, engineering, or technical background. Detail oriented and enjoys the challenge of solving technical problems
ï?· Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
ï?· Must have a thorough working knowledge of ISO, and commercial standards.
ï?· Demonstrated with local, state and federal employment laws and other government compliance regulations.
ï?· Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
ï?· Effective written and oral communication and analytical skills.
ï?· Strong organizational, time management and ability to manage multiple
ï?· Strong customer focus and sense of urgency to business needs.
ï?· Must be familiar with a wide range of reliability, environmental, and qualification programs.
ï?· Ability to monitor effectiveness of vendor quality programs as well as development reports and implement corrective action programs
ï?· Proven ability to team lead, and meet business and financial goals.
ï?· Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications.
ï?· Ability to work overtime and weekends and travel to company locations as needed.
ï?· Must have a valid driverâ??s license.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
ï?· ACI Level 1 (or higher) certification
ï?· Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) certification
ï?· (PE) Professional Engineering license, or desire to pursue
