OBJECTIVES
This position is responsible for selling advertising schedules based on advertiser marketing needs within the newspaper and our digital suite of products. Achieving budgeted revenue goals by developing all new/incremental business possible in assigned territory, for maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions and improving market share. PR / networking as an ambassador of the newspaper attending chamber functions and other networking opportunities are important.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sell retail advertising space in all American Hometown Publishing products including print, online and niche products.
Acquire new advertising customers, secures continued advertising from former and current customers.
Calls on customers to assess advertising needs and set up advertising budget, advertisement size, content, run date(s), copy / layout, calculates rates and quotes them to customer.
Assist customers in developing strategies concerning advertisement run dates, how to best target customers, and the benefits of advertising.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/equivalent, previous sales or customer service experience, good driving record required. Six months to one year related experience and / or training in sales helpful but not required. We will train if you have the desire to learn and right attitude.
In addition to this Job Description we have an opportunity to hire full-time, flex-time and part-time associates who wish to work on a commission and set their own schedule.
