Sales Engineer Job Opening in Nashville, Tennessee - Provides technical support assistance to account teams for customers or partners in assigned territory or accounts. Partners with senior experts to understand customer/partner business requirements. Creates, documents and presents technical solutions and product configurations. Assists with technical sales proposals, demos, trials and proof-of-concept activities as directed. When supporting the channel, builds relationships with partner SEs, assists with partner demos, and supports channel initiatives. Shadows tenured SE?s to learn how to overcome technical and competitive objections.
Role Requirements:
The role requires a working knowledge of the following competencies:
Technology:
Basic knowledge of the features, functions, and benefits of enterprise UC and Contact Center products, technologies, and services with ability to articulate Avaya's positioning in reference to the industry.
Familiarity with design, development, and implementation of IT infrastructure components such as servers, virtual machines (VMware) operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX), databases (Oracle / SQL Server), storage, networking, transport (TCP/IP, SIP) and desktop applications (, Java)
Knowledge of cloud based deployment models, examples include: VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Hyper-converged platforms, and Software Defined Networking
Familiarity with the underlying architecture and use case scenarios of social media technologies.
Business
Develops business acumen and ability to align company solutions to the customer or partner's business priorities.
Becomes familiar with ROI/TCO tools to analyze customer?s business and solutions for client offers.
Develop insightful relationships at all customer levels, including executive and LOB.
Public speaking capability ? comfortable, confident, engaging and credible with large or small audiences. Ability to deliver training sessions to others.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Continuously seeks opportunities to learn about overall business, industry and technology trends.

Education: Typically requires BS/BA ( Science/Technology) or equivalent.
Experience: 0-3+ years related experience
with communication system architectures, customers, partners and implementations preferred.
Application development, systems analysis, and integration background a plus.
