Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Opening in Hilo, Hawaii - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Collection calls
Answering accounts receivable inquires and follow up
Help coordinate bi-weekly credit meetings
Research and resolve customer issues in a professional manner
Research short pays from customers
Documenting information regarding customer contact
Process and mail the monthly and semi-monthly account statements
Preparing daily bank deposits
Processing daily cash receipts
Maintain files, including filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts receivable documentation, and other miscellaneous filings
Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or correct transactions
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Process fishermen checks
Provide audit support as needed
Perform any and all other duties that may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree preferred
Accounting background and experience
Any combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties as described; a typical qualifying background would include experience on payment collections
Skill and ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; follow instructions; organize and prioritize work; perform basic research and report results; read and apply rules, regulations, and procedures; proofread material and make necessary corrections; work cooperatively and effectively with staff from different locations.
